The lake is clear, full pool and surface
temps are 78 to 80 degrees.
Strippers and Hybrid: Hit or miss, It's typical summertime fishing for the linsides on Carters. Its a matter
of timming. The fish will feed for a few hours every day; if your there when it happens you can catch them. Best times
to try are daybreak until 10:00am or 6:00pm until dark. Look for the fish on main lake points and humps. We have had a few
fish come up on freelined Shad but the best bite has been on downlined shad and shinners suspended 18 to 25 ft down over
30 to 35 ft bottom. Just move around on the point or hump and watch your graph if you see fish adjust your baits to their
depth. If you dont see fish don't give up they could move up and start feeding at any time.
Spotted Bass: Its also typical summertime pattern for
the spotts. The green pumpkin finesse worm fished on a Texas rig in brush or blowdowns in 10 to 20 ft water on rocky
banks or points has been good... For night fishing a 3/4oz black or juebug colored spinnerbait with a #4 colorado blade slow
rolled on the bottom on long main lake points will catch some really nice fish. They key is to keep the bait down bumping
bottom.
